Health

After 15 years of research, scientists at Imperial College London and the Centre for the Isotope Sciences based in Glasgow have developed a novel food additive that helps prevent weight gain. The ingredient can – and probably will – be added to everyday foods, such as cereal and bread, and works by maximising the “known benefits of a high-fibre diet”.

Technology

Chris Moran, Head of Editorial Innovation and AI at The Guardian, built PlotLines, a vibe-coded app that visualises the journeys made by key characters in classic novels (ranging from David Copperfield to Pride and Prejudice). I think it’s a great illustration of how LLMs can be used to supplement – not replace – a rich learning experience.
